Sathishkumar, the new Indian Badminton Avatar

Sathiskumar Karunakaran, is the new Badminton  National Junior title Winner at National Junior ranking tournament held at Bengaluru on 25th August 2019. 

"Next, Sathishkumar presents in Indian Squad for BWF World Junior Championship, 2019 in Russia."

It was not an easier career for the Tamilnadu boy who was earlier state level swimmer turned to Badminton player 6 years back in 2013.

It was his 7th national ranking tournament of 2019 during his last year of under 19 category for the 2001 born boy.

6. Punchkula, Aug 2019, Finalist, lost to top seeded Maisnam Mairaba

7. Bengaluru, Aug 2019, Second seeded Sathish Won the title.

"Sathish has started his coaching in Asian Sports Centre, Hyderabad under the Malaysian Coach Shankar Annamalai . Shankar has vast experience in Badminton and known for his commitment and focus. Also he had lead National Teams of Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Nepal."

Through out 2019, Sathish title hunt was disturbed by Maisnam, Sai Charan and Priyansu, but on his 7th tournament of 2019, he managed all the hurdles and tasted the trophy.

Dec 2018 onwards , Sathish has started his coaching in Asian Sports Centre, Hyderabad under the Malaysian Coach Shankar Annamalai . Shankar has vast experience in Badminton and known for his commitment and focus. Also he had lead National Teams of Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Nepal. Though Sathishkumar is known for his speed and fitness, his skills are continuously improving in the recent months, it's the evident for the magic of binding between the Coach and the Player.

No doubt that the new duo, coach and player, will have plan to achieve in international levels, and it's an important period to penetrate into the Indian Seniors.

Meanwhile Sathishkumar had represented India in BWF International Junior Tournaments, Asia Junior Championship(Individual and Team) China, July 2019 and Bulgarian Junior International Championship, Bulgaria, Aug 2019.
