Grass Root Development Foundation (GRDF) Coaching Camp, Rare, but Real Phenomenon

There is a question beeps now a days about finding the talents next to PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal. National Coach Gopichand always expects the quality coaching for beginner players nationwide. In these perspectives, team of young and dynamic Badminton coaches from Tamilnadu is organizing Grass Root Development Foundation (GRDF) Coaching Camps to groom the budding players.
Objective of GRDF is to enhance TN players performance in the upcoming major tournaments such as state, national championships & all India ranking tournaments. Camp training includes pressure training, psychological sessions, and match practice with different levels of players. Coaches work to improve strategical efficiency (attack, defence and rally) and to improve mental abilities to build confidence, control anxiety and stress.
Intermediate and amateur players will get more exposure and are getting match practice sessions with elite players. Different district academy doubles pair players getting chance to practice together for 5-6 days before major tournaments. Camp training Instructs how to prepare for a match and what is the Importance of proper diet, fitness,and recovery during pre-match, during match and post-match sessions. Coaches group discussion analysis the performance each players and report the feedback.
19 coaches who instrument the GRDF are from different districts from Tamilnadu, they are Shibu, Ram Kumar Suri, Nandakumar, Anandakrishnan, K.Prakash, Suresh, Tamilmani, Mishtaq Ahamed, S.Prakash, Rajan Sankar, Bagavathi, Irshad, Mathan, Venkatesh, Arun, S.Raja, Swathinath, Prabhu, and Subash.
5 days GRDF camp was conducted at Lifespring, Coimbatore during 19 - 22 Sep 2019 for All India Sub junior ranking (u-13) held at Tirupur. There were 64 players & 18 Coaches participated in that Camp. GRDF camp player S. Rakshitha Sree, U-13 Girls Singles winner in All India Sub Junior ranking tournament, Tirupur, 2019. Second GRDF camp was successfully completed during this week to ensure the preparedness of all the players for U 15 Tamilnadu Championship 2019 at Chennai, 27-01, Nov-Dec, 2019 at Appu Indoor Sports Academy and Smashbounce Academy, Thiruvallur which was supported and sponsored by Kawasaki.
The team has the plan to repeat similar Camps in forthcoming year and organize Open State level U-13,15 Boys & Girls Singles Tournament at Coimbatore from 28-29 December 2019. Parents and players participated voluntarily and were satisfied in both camps. GRDF Team acknowledges the support extended by Tamilnadu Badminton Association (TNBA) and it was noted how the state association promote players & encouraging coaches to organize such events. Event was sponsored by Sports Gear brand Kawasaki who sponsored for shuttle cocks & t-shirts for Players and Coaches. It is a rare phenomenon to assemble various coaches with different level of experience and exposures to unite and work together, but it is realistic now. And it is a good sign for the Future players.
